Is Your Stressless Recliner Not Reclining or Swiveling Like It Used To?
A few common causes, and how 2 Danes can help — without overpromising a repair.
Common signs
Common Signs an Older Stressless Chair Needs Attention
Any of these can be worth a call — even if it turns out to be minor.
- The recline feels stiffer, looser, or less smooth than it used to
- The swivel base doesn't turn as freely, or makes noise when it does
- The chair doesn't hold its position the way it once did
- Something feels “off” but you can't quite describe what changed
What 2 Danes can and cannot do
Honest limits, upfront
2 Danes can inspect the swivel and reclining functions on Stressless leather recliners as part of the Tune-Up.
2 Danes can check for visibly broken parts and contact the factory to see whether a replacement may be available.
2 Danes cannot guarantee a repair, and cannot promise that a specific part is still available — some older parts may no longer be in production.
If we determine the issue can't be meaningfully improved, we'll tell you before doing any paid work.
Frequently asked questions
Not Reclining or Swiveling — FAQ
Is this a repair service?
Not exactly. The Tune-Up includes an inspection of the swivel and reclining functions, along with cleaning and conditioning. If a part appears broken, we can check whether a replacement may be available through the factory — but repairs and parts are not guaranteed.
What if my chair can't be fixed?
If we determine the Tune-Up won't meaningfully improve your chair, we'll tell you before doing any paid work.
Do I need to bring the ottoman?
An ottoman is recommended but not required — mention it when you call.
How much does this cost?
The Stressless Chair Tune-Up is $68. Parts and labor for any replacement-part work are quoted separately if available.
Does this apply to fabric Stressless chairs?
Not currently — the Tune-Up applies to Stressless leather recliners only.
Not sure what's wrong?
Call and describe what you're noticing.
We'll ask a few questions and see if a Tune-Up appointment makes sense for your chair.
